Eagles Sweep the Bears Again, 3-0

WALESKA, Ga. – The Eagles are back to double-figures in conference wins after notching their 10th Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) triumph in as many tries after a 3-0 victory over the Bears of Truett-McConnell (Ga.) (25-12,25-19,25-21) on Friday night inside the Brown Athletic Center.
Reinhardt improved to 16-2 and 10-0 inside the AAC after sweeping its visitors in both matchups this season.
"I thought we handled the game plan TMU's coach prepared them with very well," head coach Brian Goodhind said. We adjusted to it very quickly early in set one. I'm proud of the team for the focus tonight on our 1-0 mentality. Our goal is 1-0 tomorrow at 1 p.m.

Erinn Marroquin had a double-double with 19 assists and 10 digs, while the Eagles combined for 40 assists on 41 kills. Defensively, Reinhardt didn't allow a lot of scoring opportunities to the Bears as the hometown team had three players with double-digit digs – Mar Vives (12), Tessa Colden (11), Marroquin (10).
Additionally, Shelby Glawson was a part of four blocks in the positive outcome.
The Eagle offense had seven student-athletes register three-or-more scores, which helped set the tone in the opening set by combining to hit .387 with 15 kills. Reinhardt also had 15 kills in the match-clinching stanza to end the night.
Shelby Glawson and Savanna Davis tied for the team lead in points scored with seven.
Carlee Baxter was next in line with assists at 16.
Reinhardt also kept momentum at the serving line with 11 aces, which was paced by Colden's trio. Another three teammates tallied two each.
