Eagles Handle Rams With Ease, 3-0

BLUEFIELD, Va. – Reinhardt continued its dominance over the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) on Friday night, as the Eagles traveled to take on the Rams of Bluefield (Va.).
The hometown team improved to 9-2 (3-0 AAC) with a clean sweep over their hosts, 25-14,25-18,25-21. The loss keeps the Rams winless on the year at 0-13 overall (0-4 AAC).
"Tonight was a good 3-0 win and an opportunity again to play a few different lineups," lead Eagle Brian Goodhind said. "I'd like to ask everyone to say a prayer for Savanna Davis, who went down with an ankle injury. On to TMU and to God go all the Glory."
Bluefield gave Reinhardt point after point with 22 errors on the night, nine of which came in the second set – a stanza where the Eagles combined to hit .360.
The visitors shared the wealth up and down the lineup on both the offensive and defensive ends as well, as seven student-athletes earned multiple kills in the win. The offense was orchestrated by 31 assists from a trio of players – Erinn Marroquin (15), Carlee Baxter (14) and Mar Vives (2).
The defense accumulated a total of 42 digs, as eight players had multiple defensive receptions in the scorebook.
As a team, the Eagles hit .227 on the evening and notched 14 errors.
