2022 NAIA Women's Lacrosse Coaches Top 10 Poll (Postseason), Eagles Finish at #3
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After a successful season for Reinhardt Women's Lacrosse, the Eagles find themselves just behind the two teams that played in the National Championship game. Benedictine (who the Eagles defeated earlier in the season) defeated Lawrence Tech last Saturday to win the NAIA National Championship. The Eagles finished the season with the loss to Lawrence Tech which kept them out of the title game. The Eagles finished the season with a record of 13-3 and they won the AAC Championship.
The Eagles were led by the talented and skilled, Morgan McGhee, who had a tremendous career playing for Reinhardt. in a quote, Coach Reynolds gave a lot of credit to McGhee for being the rock that help build the Women's Lacrosse Program to where it is now. McGhee was helped by other standout players like Jessie Landers in goal; Ashley Steele, Angela Sciacchitano, and Torrie Smith in defense; Kelsey Sowa and Mia Griswold in the midfield; and numerous attackers like Anna-Marie Gazzo, Jillian Mello, Alyssa Klinger, Macy Fulton, and Shelby O'Neil who all contribute to the high-powered scoring of the Eagles.
Reinhardt finished the season with two All-Americans - Morgan McGhee & Ashley Steele.
The Eagles will miss those graduating from the team like McGhee and Landers, however, they have built a solid program with a lot of young players that will keep the program growing going folder. They have the talent where they should be able to bring home a National Championship in the next few seasons.
