Back-to-Back: Landers Gives Eagles Another National Winner
By Mike DeVader, Reinhardt Director of Athletic Communications & Media
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the second-consecutive week, a member of Reinhardt women's lacrosse was selected as the NAIA Defensive Player of the Week.
Today it was junior goalie Jessie Landers' turn after she was dominant in protecting the net for Reinhardt last week, as she made 11 stops and allowed only four goals to No. 1 SCAD-Savannah (Ga.) in a 19-4 win on the road.
The Fayetteville, Ga., native played a big role in forcing the Bees into an NAIA defeat for the first time since the NAIA Invitational back on May 6, 2016.
Landers now joins Morgan McGhee (March 23, 2021) and Kelly Friere (Feb. 28, 2017) as the only three players in program history to be recognized on a national level with such an honor.
