COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Eagles' hot streak on the softball diamond continued on Friday, as they went 2-0 on the first day of the NFCA Classic following victories over Coastal Georgia (10-2; 5 innings) and Thomas (Ga.) (6-3).
With the pair of triumphs, Reinhardt is now 12-3 and has won five-consecutive matchups. The hometown team also remained perfect in neutral site games so far this year at 5-0.
"We came out and played well early against a very good Coastal Georgia team and that was the emphasis this week," head coach Jade Geuther said. "We've been a team who has waited until late to take leads, so to get up early and cruise was a good change of pace. We didn't play as well in the Thomas game, but a win is a win, and we'll learn and get better for two more games tomorrow."
Additions to the story and further analysis will be added once official stats are accumulated from the event.
The Classic continues tomorrow afternoon with two more games – Lawrence Tech (Mich.) and Southeastern (Fla.) – with the action starting at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively
