Wrestlers Collect National-Best Eight NWCA Scholar All-Americans

MANHEIM, Pa. – (Scholar All-Americans) The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced the full slate of the 2019-20 Scholar All-American Team and individual honorees for NAIA wrestling student-athletes on Friday, the NWCA office released.
The awards went out to 80 individuals representing 30 institutions – with Reinhardt – topping the list of recipients with eight All-Americans, while Grand View (Iowa) and Menlo (Calif.) followed with five selections.

The aforementioned list also includes 39 NAIA All-Americans, with 11 national finalists, six of which captured national titles.
To make the NWCA NAIA Scholar All-American Team, a student-athlete must carry a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and be a 2020 NAIA All-American or have a 3.25 GPA and be a 2020 NAIA National Championships qualifier.

After Reinhardt finished in third place out of 53 competing teams with 83 points in the 2020 NAIA Wrestling National Championships, hosted by Visit Wichita, the Eagles were awarded their best postseason placement in history at No. 3 in the Wrestling Coaches' Postseason Top 20 Poll.
Back in Kansas, Reinhardt wrestling continued to make waves on a national level and set new standards as a program after the Eagles improved two spots from 2019 (fifth overall).
Additionally, they surpassed last year's mark for NAIA All-Americans (five) with their top-three finish and seven All-Americans this season.
