SEWANEE, Tenn. – (Results) Invitationals in Tennessee have been kind to Reinhardt indoor track and field recently, and Friday was no different for the Eagles, as they soared to a first-place finish on the men's side in the Sewanee Indoor Invitational.
Not to be outdone, the women's team put together a strong fourth-place finish overall.
"Positive step in the right direction for our programs again today," head coach Jordan Turner said. "We had some really good times and marks, as we tune up for the AAC Indoor Championship. Twenty-three of 31 members that have competed this winter hit AAC-qualifying marks as individuals, so we will be taking the largest group to indoor conference than we ever have. I look forward to seeing what we can do this week against some really stiff AAC competition."
The hometown squads earned 137 points in the men's accumulation and 40 tallies on the women's side.
Dezric Cook got third overall in the men's 200-meter race (23.39) and Brian Vincent Jr. took home top honors in the 800m with a 2:03.89. Parker Breedlove also nabbed a third-place finish in the 3,000m at 10:00.31.
