Eagles Breeze Past the Knights
Waleska, Georgia - Reinhardt finished out the regular season with a bang in front of their home crowd. The Eagles did not hesitate as Rafael Pais sought the opportunity to score within 7 minutes in the first half, assisted by Gian Luca Fahling as the ball hit the bottom left of the post and bounced in.
That would set the standard for the rest of the match for the Eagles. Following a minute after the first goal, Philip Frowis scored another goal, assisted by Gus Fidler putting 2-0 on the scoreboard.
"First I would like to commend Coach Miller and his team as they were a class act today and earned our respect with the manner they competed." head coach Joey Johnson said. I was pleased with the discipline of our players and that we were able to complete our regular season home fixtures in a positive way. We are looking forward to our preparation for the upcoming AAC tournament as it comes into focus this week.
On an important sidenote, I would like to congratulate Coach Kaplan, Coach Hall and the women's team here at RU on an outstanding season and earning an AAC championship today."
Reinhardt continued to protect home territory as Blake White collected one goal and Pavel Dashin added two more goals before the end of the first period, having several teammates pitch in with assists. White looked to add another goal near the end of the second half.
Gian Luca Fahling, Sergio Cristaldo, and Badr Laklech each snagged a goal leaving the Eagles to win the match 9-0 against the Knights of Kentucky Christian (KY.)
The Eagles look to host the first round of conference next week, as they finish 13-3 overall and 10-3 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference.
