Eagles Overcome Early Deficit to Earn 5-2 Win
It wasn't the start that the Reinhardt reserves wanted, but it sure was the finish they hoped for, as the Eagles overcame an early 2-0 deficit to beat Covered Bridge Soccer Club by a final score of 5-2.
Covered Bridge got off to a fast start with two goals in the first 10 minutes of play, but the Eagles did not hang their heads for long, however, as Dima Lynes buried a rebound to cut the lead in half just minutes before halftime.
The second half was all Reinhardt, as Lynes was able to find the net for the second time. Sean DuMond also rifled a shot into the top-corner of the net to continue the scoring. Seth Stankich was able to ice the game with two more goals of his own to help lead the Eagles to a 5-2 win.
This victory puts the Eagle reserves to 2-0 on the season.
They face off against Darlington Academy at home on Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m.
