LAURINBURG, N.C. - A pair of second-half goals by Aaron Whitten - 54:14 and 71:54 - pushed Reinhardt men's soccer back into the winner's circle after the Eagles overcame an early deficit just 73 seconds into the match in a 2-1 victory over St. Andrews (N.C.) on the road Saturday.
The Eagles were credited with 25 shots in the win, more than double the Knights' 11 to move to 4-4-1 and 3-1-1 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference.
The hometown team's defense was stellar the rest of the way and Reinhardt had ball possession the majority of the conference clash as Taylor Gray led the team with five shot attempts (all on-goal).
In total, 10 players registered at least a pair of shots.
Severin Ryf got the positive outcome after 68:37 in front of the net and making four saves.
Truett-McConnell (Ga.) awaits Reinhardt on Oct. 2 in a 3:15 p.m. matchup.
