Young Eagles Soar to AAC Victory at Ken White!
Waleska, GA - In a thrilling regular season lacrosse matchup on Saturday, Reinhardt Men's Lacrosse delivered an outstanding performance, securing a decisive 15-5 victory over SCAD Savannah Bees. The Eagles showed their dominance throughout the game, leading 6-4 at halftime and opening things up in the second half, outscoring SCAD 9 to 1.
Cameron Ison was a standout player, scoring a remarkable five goals, including the game-winning goal, while Luke Greer, Joey Amatulli, and Benjamin Shackleford each contributed three goals, demonstrating the balanced attacking prowess of the team. Notably, Reid McDowell also added a goal to round out the scoring for the Eagles. The teamwork was further highlighted by impressive assist totals, with multiple players contributing to the scoresheet. Luke Greer and Benjamin Shackleford each provided two assists, alongside two from Alex Mabrey, further underscoring the depth of the team's offensive capabilities.
Defensively, Michael Scoleri upheld the goal with resilience, helping the Eagles maintain their lead and secure the victory. Scoleri saved 6 shots from 10 Bees' shots on goal. This win over the Bees has bolstered Reinhardt's season record to an unbeaten 2-0, including a 1-0 mark in their conference.
Also noteable, Joshua Shackleford and Ty Freeman each had two caused turnovers defensively for the Eagles!
Looking ahead, the Eagles will travel to Athens, TN, to face Tennessee Wesleyan this Wednesday for another AAC matchup. The team looks to continue their winning streak and keep meching the youngsters with veteran talent behind new Head Coach Brady Hanak.
