Men's Golf Takes Second in TWU Bojangles Collegiate Invitational

LOUDON, Tenn. - (Results) Men's golf payed a superb final day and jumped up three spots to earn a runner-up finish in the Tennessee Wesleyan Bojangles Collegiate Invitational over the weekend with a three-round total of 895 (31-over-par).
The team, who was just ranked No. 24 in the NAIA on Friday night, finished just nine spots behind Dalton State (Ga.), who collectively won the invite with a 22-over-par total. The Eagles combined to shoot even on the final day, while the Roadrunners were plus-three.
Individually, Christopher Whitney turned in a third-place card after finishing even-par after scores of 75, 71, 70 (216). Jake McWhorter jumped up eight spots on the leaderboard to wrap up his play with a T6 (72,79, 70; 221), including going low with a 2-under in the final round.
Seong Lee was not far behind with a T14 after getting progressively better each time out. Lauri Malinen earned a top 25 finish with a T22, and Ford Berger rounded out the top five for Reinhardt with a 30th-place finish - moving up eight spots along the way.
The final tournament of the fall comes up in a week when the club tees it up in the AAC Preview, hosted by Truett-McConnell (Ga.), on Oct. 21-22.
