VALDOSTA, Ga. - (Individual Results | Team Results) Men's golf made its way just to the south in Valdosta to compete in a star-studded field at the two-day Thomas (Ga.) Fall Invite, and the Eagles finished about the middle of the pack at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in a tie for eighth-place with a score of 603 (+27).
Reinhardt was 29 strokes behind champion Coastal Georgia, who beat out Point (Ga.) by two shots for the title.
Individually, the hometown squad was paced by Christopher Whitney, who finished in a tie for 26th overall (73,77) after dropping 13 spots following the opening round. Hunter Clay was just two spots behind - as was Lauri Malinen - after finishing his play with a 74 for a 7-over finish.
Malinen shot 78 and 73 for his 151 total.
Jake McWhorter (T44) and Ford Berger (T52) rounded out the top five placements for Reinhardt.
The team will be off the course for a couple weeks as it prepares for the Tennessee Wesleyan Invitational on Oct. 12-13.
