Eagles Clawed through the Knights
By Angel Cornista and Erinn Marroquin
Laurinburg, N.C. - Reinhardt continues to show their durability through the Appalachian Division as they defeated the Knights of St. Andrews 63-18.
"Great overall game in all three phases. "Head coach James Miller said, "Billy Hall and Navarie Solomon played out of their minds. Navarie set a school record with 9 catches 246 yards and 4 touchdowns and Billy had 6 passing TDS. Great job by coaches Jones and Lindamood to prepare those guys to play to the best of their abilities.
I thought the line protected well. On defense, besides 1 big run, we shut down a very potent offense. We did a great job on 3rd down and pressuring their quarterback. Overall, a great effort from our young men.
We are blessed to coach these men, as they continue to grow into their full potential."
Reinhardt looked to score two touches within the first quarter, as Solomon reached for the first two touchdowns to start the game with Eagles up 14-0. Despite the small mishaps on the defensive side, the Eagles offense looked to stay ahead of the game as Hall untilized Bryce Burgess and Terry Berdin, each collecting one touchdown for the Eagles. Solomon continued to keep a straight head as he accumulated two more touchdowns.
As the time passed, the Eagles looked to rack up four more touchdowns by Javarsia Meadows, Jake Wallace, and (2TD) by Devon Roesch.
Currently ranked No. 8 Reinhardt (7-2,3-0 Mid-South Conference) was led in the running back position by Isaiah Blake, who ran a total of 47 yards with a 2yd run touchdown to make the score 56-12. The Eagles did not stop there as Billy Hall and Navarie Solomon connected well on the receiving side, making hitory for the Reinhardt Football program (246 yd. - 4 TD.)
Reinhardt will be back at Ken White University Stadium for their last regular season home game on November 7th, 2021, as they suit up to face the Bulldogs of Union College (KY.) on the Eagles Senior Day.
