Lowery Gets Defensive Nod as Football Moves to No. 7

BOWLING GREEN, Ky./KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Kenneth Lowery helped the Eagles shut down the Royals of Warner (Fla.) on the gridiron last Saturday, 45-0, in Reinhardt's home opener on Ken White Field at University Stadium.
The linebacker, who posted a total of six tackles in the victory, has been tabbed the Mid-South Conference Appalachian Defensive Player of the Week on Monday – and in the process – helped the hometown squad move up one spot to No. 7 in the NAIA Football FirstDown PlayBook Top 25 Poll.

MSC Appalachian Defensive Player of the Week
Kenneth Lowery – Jr. – LB – Lawrenceville, Ga.
- Lowery posted six tackles, five solo, in Reinhardt's win versus Warner (Fla.)
- The junior recorded four of his six stops in the second quarter and two more in the third period
- He collects the second MSC weekly honor of his career and first this season
Later Monday, the NAIA national office revealed the Top 25 for football, and the Eagles (1-1) moved up one position thanks to 305 voting points in the rating.
