WALESKA, Ga. – Head coach James Miller announced today the condensed official football schedule for the upcoming season for the Eagles in 2020.
Reinhardt – the four-time Appalachian Division champions of the Mid-South Conference (MSC) – will now line up on the gridiron eight times, four apiece on the road and inside Ken White Field at University Stadium.
Teams will play primarily within their divisions in 2020, including playing some opponents in a home-and-home series. Only one of the games – as determined by the conference – will be considered a divisional game and count towards the divisional standings.
"It's going to be an interesting schedule this year only playing Appalachian Division schools and also pushing our start time back to Sept. 12," Miller said. "Having to play two schools twice will present some challenges that we've never had to do before, but I'm very excited to get the season started… I know our players, coaches and myself understand how blessed we are to play this game.
"We will continue to stay as safe as possible following all guidelines mandated by the CDC and Reinhardt University."
The Eagles begin the year on Sept. 12 against Faulkner (Ala.) at home, before hitting the road for back-to-back outings against St. Andrews (N.C.) (Sept. 19) and Union (Ky.) (Oct. 3).
The battle with the Bulldogs in the first week of October will be the conference road opener for the hometown team.
Reinhardt then takes on the Knights for the second get-together in three games – this time in Waleska on Oct. 10 – in the home MSC opener, before double-dipping against Faulkner on the road in another conference battle on Oct. 17.
The final road contest of the regular season takes place against the Rams of Bluefield (Va.) on Oct. 24, before Reinhardt wraps up its slate of games against Kentucky Christian and Point (Ga.), both at home, on Oct. 31 and Nov. 14, respectively.
The Eagles have bye weeks on Sept. 26 and Nov. 7.
