Eagles Power Past Royals, 7-3, in Florida

LAKE WALES, Fla. – A six-run third inning propelled Reinhardt to a come-from-behind road victory over Warner (Fla.), 7-3, Friday evening at Royals Field in non-conference action after the game was added due to continued rain accumulation in Georgia.
The Eagles have claimed three-straight wins to improve to 5-2 overall and earned its first triumph on the road in 2020.
"Really proud of our approach today at the plate," lead Eagle Jonathan Burton said. "If we can do this on a daily basis, our offense will be very tough to handle. This team needs to continue to strive to do more because it can do more; I believe that they can. Resting on leads and putting teams away is our biggest hurdle at this point. As we continue to play, some of these things will work themselves out, but I prefer us to continue to be the aggressor."
An RBI-triple and a single both brought in runs for Warner to grab a 2-0 cushion after a pair of innings. The hometown squad would respond in a big way in the very next inning with a half-dozen tallies. Keven Jimenez got his team on the board by reaching on an error, and then Isaiah Arnold snagged a 2-RBI hit for a 3-2 advantage.
After a Chris Basilio walk, Gianmarco Marcelletti smashed his first homer in a Reinhardt uniform – a 3-run bomb – and a 6-2 lead.
Arnold pushed the game to 7-2 after a sacrifice fly in the fifth. The Royals would add one more tally in the bottom of the seventh, but wouldn't pose any threat to the Eagles as they made back-to-back outs to end the day.
Marcelletti and Arnold both had a trio of RBIs and Albert Mora went 2-for-4.
On the mound, Daniel Dolensky got the win with four strikeouts in five innings. Jason Ferreras closed the door with a save in .2 innings of work.
The two teams are back at it tomorrow morning at 10 a.m., before Reinhardt and Edward Waters (Fla.) line up against each other at approximately 12:45 p.m.
