Bio

Jeff Bedard is the head coach of Reinhardt's inaugural wrestling team.

In 2019-20, Reinhardt continued to make waves on a national level and set new standards as a program, after the Eagles finished in third place out of 53 competing teams with 83 points in the 2020 NAIA Wrestling National Championships, hosted by Visit Wichita.

The Eagles improved two spots from 2019 (fifth overall) and surpassed last year's mark for NAIA All-Americans (five) with their top-three finish and seven All-Americans. Additionally, Reinhardt was awarded its best postseason placement in history at No. 3 in the Wrestling Coaches' Postseason Top 20 Poll.

After helping guide the 12th-ranked Eagles to the 2019 NAIA Wrestling National Championships, hosted by Catch Des Moines, with a 12-2 overall record, Bedard was named NAIA Wrestling Coach of the Year.

During that season, the Eagles ended with a program-best fifth-place finish out of 49 teams in the 2019 NAIA Wrestling National Championships. Reinhardt finished with 71 points in the two-day event.

After sweeping every weight class at the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Championship in 2019, the Eagles took nearly a full squad of 11 participants to the National Championships. Coach Bedard and company are back-to-back conference champions, and led from wire-to-wire; and even earned a second-place finish at 149 pounds after Jody McAlister and Dawson Hunt lined up against each other in the finals.

As an athlete, Bedard had a very decorated career. He was a 3-time HS state champion (Georgia and Michigan), a two time HS All-American, and 2-time Georgia wrestler of the year. He was also a 2-time All-American for Carson-Newman. While winning the NAIA National Championship he was named the tournament’s outstanding wrestler and recorded the most falls.

Internationally, Coach Bedard won the Military World Championships, was a 6-time US Open All-American, Sunkist Open Champion and 4-Time NYAC Champion.

He has coached two college national champions, a national runner-up and 34 All-Americans. Additionally, he coached three Georgia HS state championship teams and was named Georgia Coach of the Year.

Bedard has one daughter, Gabrielle.
