Bio

Josh White joined the Reinhardt University men’s and women’s track and field coaching staffs as an assistant coach, specializing in the throws, prior to the start of the 2021-2022 season. The throws program has seen immense growth under White’s guidance. During his first 2 seasons at Reinhardt, White’s throwers have taken home 13 AAC All Conference awards, winning 5 AAC championships and breaking 17 school records in the process. Reinhardt has had 4 NAIA National Qualifiers during his tenure with 2 of those being named All-American. He coached David Friedberg to the programs first ever national championship in 2022, winning back-to-back National Championships in the mens javelin in 2023. During the 2023 season, Friedberg moved into 3rd place all time in NAIA and accounted for 8 of the 10 farthest throws in NAIA that year and was named NAIA South Region Mens Field Athlete of the Year by USTFCCCA. On the back of the stellar performances during the 2023 outdoor season, White was recognized as the NAIA South Region Mens Assistant Coach of the Year by USTFCCCA.

Prior to Reinhardt, White spent 3 years coaching the throws at his alma mater, Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro, KY. During his time at KWC the number of throwers on the roster doubled and they set 20 program records. In addition to coaching the throwers, White oversaw the development of the strength training programs for the sprinters and jumpers.

Competitively at Kentucky Wesleyan, White set school records in both the discus and javelin throw and he took home first place at the 2012 Great Lakes Valley Conference Outdoor Championships. He also played 4 seasons of football for the Panthers.

White graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 2015 with a Bachelors in Fitness and Sports Management, and from Reinhardt University in 2022 with a Masters in Sports Administration and Leadership. He holds a USATF Level II coaching certification in the throws and is a member of both USTFCCCA and the National Strength Coaches Association.
