Bio

Jeff Moyer enters his fourth season as Assistant Coach with Reinhardt Baseball and his 10th season coaching college baseball. Moyer is tasked as the team’s hitting coach and recruiting coordinator.

Moyer has helped the offense improve each of his first 3 seasons being with the program, and 2023 was a record-breaking season. The Eagles broke School Records in Hits (564), Doubles (107), Home Runs (91), Slugging Percentage (.539), and Stolen Bases (112). The Eagles offense also saw Nash Crowell hit 20 Home Runs breaking the school Home Run Record of 18 that stood for 15 years.

In Moyer’s 9 years of coaching and recruiting, he has recruited 8 players that have gone on to be drafted or play professional baseball.

Prior to Reinhardt, Moyer spent four years as a member of the Georgia Gwinnett (GGC) baseball staff, where he served as an assistant coach working with the infielders for one season and catchers for three seasons. While with the Grizzlies, he was also the recruiting coordinator. In his four seasons at GGC, Moyer helped lead the Grizzlies to a 195-52 record, including the conference tournament championships, four NAIA Baseball Opening Round appearances, two Avista-NAIA World Series Appearances (2018, 2019) and back-to-back national semifinal appearances (2018, 2019).

"It is hard to put into words how lucky we are to have Jeff Moyer as an assistant coach at Reinhardt," head coach Jonathan Burton said. "He has outstanding leadership qualities that you look for in an assistant coach, not only on the field but off as well. His ability to recruit and connect with young men will be noticeable in ways that will allow us to be successful in the present and in the future. Jeff will help us reach new heights, and I believe in his abilities as a friend and coach wholeheartedly."

While at GGC, Moyer served two seasons as head coach of the Gwinnett Tides in the Sunbelt League (2016, 2017), and was also the director of operations in the Sunbelt League in 2017 and 2018. While working with the Sunbelt League, he was tasked with recruiting players for the league from all over the country as well as handling the day-to-day operations within the league. Prior to his time with the Grizzlies, Moyer served as the graduate assistant baseball coach at Southeastern (Fla.), where he earned a Master’s of Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Management. On the field, he worked with infielders and provided hitting instruction. While at Southeastern, he served as an assistant for the Columbia Blowfish in the Coastal Plains League working under former first-round draft pick - Jonathan Johnson (current Columbia International Head Baseball Coach)

Moyer has a unique playing and coaching background, having played or coached at every level of baseball except for NCAA Division III - playing collegiately with three different programs. He began his collegiate career with Division II Palm Beach Atlantic (Fla.) where he was the 2009 NCCAA Freshman of the Year. After his freshman year, he transferred to NJCAA Santa Fe (Fla.) for his sophomore season.

He led the Saints in batting average (.404) and home runs (12). In 2010, Moyer transferred to the University of Florida where he completed his final two years of collegiate baseball. He was a member of Florida’s back-to-back NCAA Division I College World Series teams (2011, 2012) that finished as the national runners-up in 2011. Moyer holds a Bachelor of Science in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences from the University of Florida and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Sports Management from Southeastern University.

Moyer and his wife, Haley, reside in Canton, GA, and have a daughter, Emerson, and a son, Brooks.
